The project will involve the sensitive restoration and conservation of the building which respects its heritage and seeks to bring it back into use by providing the following benefits:
Block A, the main entrance to the hospital, with its substantial hall and room, would become the home of a new cultural/community use for members of the public to hire either on a short or long term basis and would be suitable for a wide range of uses. We envisage that possible uses will range from exhibitions, talks, classes, educational purposes, meetings plus many more possibilities. There will be a café in the foyer area which will allow people to freely access this block.
Blocks B-D (the remainder of the existing building) will be sensitively converted and extended to provide new homes.
Block E is a new building which will provide new homes. In total across Blocks B-E, we believe the site has the potential to deliver 139 homes.
Block F is a second new building to host a care home providing 65 beds.
The scheme has been designed with approximately 40 residential car parking spaces including disabled car parking. The basement car park is accessed from Ravenscourt Square via car lifts. Further disabled visitor car parking is located at ground level, in the Block A forecourt. All parking will be provided with electric charging facilities.
