Ravenscourt Park Hospital, Hammersmith

The proposals

Our vision

The project will involve the sensitive restoration and conservation of the building which respects its heritage and seeks to bring it back into use by providing the following benefits:

  • Bringing the Grade II* listed building back to life, after many years of lying vacant, by making a significant investment to bring the listed buildings up to modern standards
  • Providing flexible community space in Block A, to cater to a variety of local needs
  • Integrating new publicly accessible pedestrian routes through the site to connect to the wider neighbourhood
  • Restoring and enhancing the landscape, taking inspiration from the key features of the historic landscape of the Art Deco former Masonic Hospital with significant new planting
  • The inclusion of various environmental and sustainable measures – including the use of ground source heat pumps to help meet the heating needs of the property via a renewable energy source

Block A

Block A, the main entrance to the hospital, with its substantial hall and room, would become the home of a new cultural/community use for members of the public to hire either on a short or long term basis and would be suitable for a wide range of uses. We envisage that possible uses will range from exhibitions, talks, classes, educational purposes, meetings plus many more possibilities. There will be a café in the foyer area which will allow people to freely access this block.
